José retained our office only two months before his final deportation hearing. We hit the ground running, gathering documentation and submitting a detailed legal brief in advance of the final hearing.
At the final hearing, we presented evidence that José’s daughter, who had a medical condition that required an implanted device in her head and ongoing doctor’s treatment, would suffer extreme and unusual hardship if she were forced to either move to Mexico with her father or be separated from the financial and other support that he provided.
The Judge granted Cancellation of Removal, and José was granted a green card, work authorization, and legal status to remain here in the United States with his family.
